Net metering is a solar incentive that allows you to store energy in the Electric Grid. When Solar Panels generate additional power during day it is exported to grid & in exchange during night time power is imported from Grid. The record of this exchange of power is maintained by Net Meter. User has to pay for additional electricity imported from Grid OR he is credited with the excess unit he has Exported to the Grid for next Billing Cycle. With the right size Solar Energy system one can produce enough electricity to match electricity use for entire year.

Solar PV system runs the connected load directly & charges a battery bank. When Sun light is
unavailable or
inadequate it uses the batteries to run load. Widely used where power cut is
frequent or Grid supply is unavailable.
Hybrid system is essentially an ON Grid system which also has a Battery bank. In case of power
cut it
runs the load directly on Solar or Battery bank if sun light is inadequate.
On an average 1kw of Solar system generates approximately 4-5 units per day. This also depends on weather, shadow, dust, Fog, Bird dropping etc. the widely used thumb rule to plan the capacity of Solar system is to install 1kw for every 125 units consumed per month.
